Privacy Policy

    Inkventory is built around one principle: your collection belongs to you. Your data is stored locally on your device first — cloud backup is a separate opt-in feature you can enable in Settings.
  

1. Who We Are

Inkventory is an independent mobile app for fountain pen and ink collectors, developed by an individual developer. If you have any questions about your privacy, contact us at info@inkventoryapp.eu.

2. What Data We Collect

Your collection stays on your device

Everything you enter into Inkventory — pen names, brands, nib details, notes, ink names, colors, properties, levels, ink change history, and rotation reminders — is stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud backup in Settings, it is also synced to your account in the cloud.

Photos stays on your device

You can optionally add photos to your pens and ink bottles. Photos are stored on your device. If cloud backup is enabled, they are also saved to your personal cloud storage. We only access your camera or photo library when you initiate a photo action — never passively.

Account & cloud backup optional · cloud

An account is required to use Inkventory. Sign-in is via a one-time code sent to your email — no password is needed. We store your email address and a unique account ID. Cloud backup is a separate opt-in feature you can enable in Settings; when enabled, your collection is synced to the cloud so you can restore it on a new device. Cloud data is protected so only your account can access your records.

Anonymous usage analytics third-party · anonymous

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage events that help us understand how the app is used and improve it — things like "user added an ink" or "user opened the stats screen." These events never include the content of your collection (names, colors, notes, or photos) and are not linked to your identity. PostHog operates in the EU. PostHog Privacy Policy.

Subscription & purchases third-party

If you purchase Inkventory Premium, the payment is processed by Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage your subscription status — it receives only an anonymous identifier and your purchase receipt. We never see or store your payment details. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Reminders on-device only

Pen rotation reminders are scheduled entirely on your device. No reminder data or notification tokens are sent to any server.

3. What We Never Do

We do not read or collect the content of your collection for any purpose other than syncing it to your own account.
We do not use advertising SDKs or sell your data.
We do not build profiles for targeted advertising.
We do not access your location, contacts, microphone, or any other sensor.
We do not use social logins (Google, Facebook, etc.). Sign-in is by email only.

4. Third-Party Services

The following services are used by the app, each with their own privacy policy:

Supabase — cloud database and backup, hosted in the EU. Only active when you are signed in with cloud backup enabled. Privacy Policy

PostHog — anonymous analytics, hosted in the EU. Receives only anonymous event names and a device identifier. Privacy Policy

5. Data Security

Your local data is stored on your device and protected by your device's own security. Cloud data is stored in the EU with strict access controls — only your account can read or write your records. All data in transit is encrypted.

We take reasonable steps to keep your data safe. Cloud backup is opt-in and can be turned on or off at any time in Settings.

6. Data Retention

Local data stays on your device until you uninstall the app or delete items manually.
Cloud data is kept as long as your account is active. Deleting your account removes all your cloud data within 30 days.
Analytics data is subject to PostHog's own retention policy.
CSV export is always available and always free — export your full collection at any time from Settings.

7. Your Rights

Export your data — use the CSV export in Settings at any time to download your full collection as a CSV file.
Delete your account — email us at info@inkventoryapp.eu with your registered email address. We will process deletion within 30 days.
Disable cloud backup — you can turn off cloud sync at any time in Settings. Your data remains on your device.

If you are in the European Union or European Economic Area, you also have rights under the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and objection). Contact us at info@inkventoryapp.eu to exercise any of these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

Inkventory is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you within the app.
